Swarup Bhose

I was born in Poole, Dorset in 1970, before moving to cranfield in 1973 where my father was studying his master's.

I grew up in Bedford, and attended Bedford Modern school where I was a keen rower (alongside Tim foster no less!) and rugby player.

Due to my father's work in the oil and gas industry, I boarded at bms for a number of years as well as having the opportunity to travel extensively whilst still at school during the holidays. This was really helpful in giving me a broad perspective on life during my formative years.

I am married to Sharmilee, have a beautiful 3 year old daughter-Nadia, and have lived in verwood since 2003.

I graduated with my BA(hons) in business and management at bournemouth university and currently work for Lloyds Banking Group where I have been for 27 years .

My husband  and I relocated to Verwood from London  in 1991. I left behind my job as a Purchasing Manager for a large national distributor and worked part-time lecturing in Marketing & Purchasing for local colleges.

Our three children have grown up here, attending Verwood schools. I soon became involved with St Michaels Young Families and setting up Scamps parent toddler group (Verwood Methodist), which I ran for several years. These days I help lead the children's work and Chill youth club for Verwood Mathodist church. My husband and I started up the campaign for a new school in Verwood which led to the go-ahead for Trinity First School.  I was subsequently a TA there, and served as a Governor. I also started my teacher training at Trinity.

In 2005 a colleague and I set up a training company, offering accredited qualifications in Learning Support and Early Years Care & Education, training staff in local schools, preschools, nurseries and also childminders.  Alongside my teaching work I am also the Early Years Lead across two Bournemouth Children's Centres.

I take a keen interest in music and dance and ran a choir (Musical Youth) in Verwood for six years. I became involved with the annual Verwood Talented Youth shows at the Hub, eventually taking on the running of this event and others in the community - something I particularly enjoy.
