Solar Farm Community Benefit
There are two Solar Farms in Verwood; Homeland Solar Farm in Three Legged Cross and Manor Solar Farm to the west of the B3072.
The local community receives money from both solar farms which will be paid annually for as long as the farms are operational. The funds are administered by two Community Groups independently of the Town Council. The groups accept applications for grants throughout the year.
The Town Council acts in partnership with both groups by holding the community benefit monies on their behalf in ring fenced funds. Payments from these funds are made through the Town Council's Bank Account but the funds are separate from the Town Council's precept and are only available to be spent as the community groups decide.
