I am 19 years old and
I am currently studying politics with economics at
Loughborough University, I was elected to the Town Council
for the first time on May 3rd 2007.
I have lived in
Verwood for almost 10 years having previously lived in
Northern Ireland. Born 31/08/1988 in Belfast, I
attended Acorn Integrated Primary School until moving to
Verwood in July 1998 where I completed years 7 & 8 at
Emmanuel Middle School. I decided to attend Queen
Elizabeth School where I became involved in most of the
activities that I love, I was the school hockey captain
and an active member of the school, undertaking such
activities as drugs mentoring, swimming, debating, writing
for the school newspaper and helping to run a ‘money
matters’ student information club.
One of my favourite
achievements has been to assist with the introduction of
fair trade status in Wimborne, which included setting up a
very successful fair trade shop for students. Fair trade
is a project that is very important to me and I look
forward to helping Verwood towards a fair trade system in
the future.
It was through these
activities that I received the Viv Chadwick shield for
achievement in hockey and the Bill Moore Trophy for
outstanding contribution to the community; both are awards
I am extremely proud of.
I have a part time job
at Crane Valley Golf Club where I have worked in the
kitchens for nearly 5 years. In my spare time I play table
tennis for the Shamrocks in Wimborne and enjoy pub
quizzing with my friends. I play darts at the British
legion which is where I am often found supporting the
biggest passion of my life: Liverpool FC.
I currently sit on the
amenities committee as well as the Finance and General
Purpose Committee and I am the representative for the
council on youth issues.
