Peter
Richardson
A Three
Legged Cross resident since 2006, Peter is married with
three grown up children. A past Head Teacher at Alderholt
Primary School, Dorset, he then moved to Salisbury as Head
Teacher of St Andrew’s School Laverstock.
His career in education also took in work for the National
Association of Headteachers, of which he is a life member.
He represented colleagues at local District Branches and
County Federation Bodies where he developed a wide base
knowledge of the structure and operational interrelationship
of national, regional and local government.
Peter offered himself for election to Kennet District
Council at a by-election in 1988, where he represented the
village of Ludgershall in Kennet Wiltshire and was Parish
Councillor there, both working for the wider community for
20 years. He was first elected to the East Dorset District
Council and the Verwood Town Council in 2007.
Now an
experienced Town, District and County Councillor re-elected
for Three Legged Cross and Potterne Ward in May 2011.
The local
economy is important for the future success and employment
prospects of our community. Peter supports the protection
and retention of Green Belt for future generations.
He
is a local contact in Three Legged Cross for the
Neighbourhood Watch Association, a member of Three Legged
Cross Forum. He is
a
Dorset County Councillor and
represents
local area at Community Partnerships for the County Council,
a member of its Roads & Rights of Way Committee and its
Resourses and Overview Committee. Peter
is Vice-Chairman of East Dorset District Council’s
Efficiency & Improvement Committee, a member of its
Licensing Committee and representative at the Citizens
Advice Bureau in Ringwood.
At
Verwood Town Council he is Chairman of the Council’s Plans
Consultative Committee, a member of its Finance & General
Purposes Committee and Amenities Committee.
