Lucy
Clark
Born in Castle Cary, Somerset, in 1939, I was brought up
in Bournemouth. After completing a two year Secretarial
Course at Bournemouth College, I went off to London and
spent three years working for The Times newspaper. I then
spent some years in Canada working in Toronto and
Vancouver before returning and becoming PA to the Head of
the F. English Group which included Maranello, the Ferrari
importers. I then married John and we lived in
Bexleyheath for many years. I worked in Dartford for
Glaxo, the pharmaceutical company, in the Quality
Assurance Division dealing with administration.
We
retired and moved to Verwood in 2000 where I soon got
involved with local issues, in particular the pathway from
the new Potters Wheel car park into Manor Road. I was a
Governor at Hillside Community First School for nine years.
I was
elected to the District Council in 2003 and re-elected in
2007 and 2011. I was elected to the Town Council in 2007
and again in 2011. I am the EDDC representative on Verwood
Age Concern, the Heritage Centre and the Youth Centre. I am
now the Verwood Town Council Representative on the Verwood
Community Association.
