Boyd
Mortimer
Boyd
was born in Birmingham in 1947 but lived in Gloucester
until he moved to Verwood in 1982.
He has been running his own well-known successful
businesses in the town for many years.
Boyd
has two daughters who were brought up in Verwood and is
married to Diane who also has two daughters and between
them have 8 Grand Children.
Boyd’s
interests are any type of sport, mainly Rugby, Horse
Racing and Football.
He and his wife also enjoy travelling.
Boyd
is also interested in the local community and the future
of Verwood. He therefore got elected to East Dorset
District Council for the newly formed Ward of Newtown in
2003, was re-elected in 2007 and elected for the Town
Council that year.
He
is involved in many committees including planning for EDDC
and Vice Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes for
the Town.
He is also a trustee of the Verwood Hub.
