Alec Nicholls
Born London 1944. Moved
to Verwood 1979. My
wife and I operate the local mobile fish & chip shop.
I
have two sons, both have grown up in Verwood.
I
became a co-opted councillor in 1998 after helping residents organise a successful fight to save mature oak trees from the developer's chain
saw.
In
the 1999, 2003, 2007 elections I was elected on to the Verwood Town Council
I had the honour of serving as
Mayor for our town during the Queen’s Golden Jubilee
year when I was able to secure a suitable site for the
skate park.
I was a Driving Instructor with
B.S.M, and met my wife when she became a pupil in
1967. This year we celebrate our 36th wedding
anniversary. We operated our own driving school for
a number of years (M.O.T. approved instructor). I have
held a passenger service vehicle licence, also a heavy
goods vehicle licence.
Hobbies: My wife and I enjoy (when
time allows), skiing, horse riding , scuba diving,
gardening and caravanning.
