Extended Help Centre at the Council offices

On 14th September the Mayor's advisor, William Wells, officially opened an extension to the Help Centre at the Verwood Town Council offices.

The Mayor, Mayor's Advisor, William Wells and Town Clerk, Val Bright

The extension will provide extra space for visitors who use the Help Centre to  view planning applications, enquire about council matters at Town, District and County level and buy items like bin bags. The office and help centre staff are there to assist from 9am-1pm Monday to Friday.

The offices were bought by the parish council in 1991. William Wells, who served Verwood as a parish and then town councillor for over 50 years, acted as guarantor for the council during the purchase. He now holds the position of Mayor's Advisor and current Mayor Michael Dolan was delighted to invite him to open the extension.

Mr Wells said: "Before this building was bought, the parish council had no home and we held meetings wherever we could. The building has been changed over the years and I am delighted to be here to open this final improvement".
