Service on Ferret Green, 11th November 2011

The Mayor, Councillor Mrs.Toni Coombs, Rev Andrew Sinclair, Mr. Dennis Wright, President of the Royal British Legion, the children of Trinity CE (VA) First School and members of the public at the Memorial Stone, Ferrett Green.

There will be a Parade to Ferrett Green from St. Michael and All Angels Church on Sunday 13th November. Wreaths will be laid by the Army, Town Council, Royal British Legion, Guides, Scouts and others.

Town Council supports Jack Peters

Verwood Town Council unanimously agreed to give Jack Peters a 16-year-old sixth former at Queen Elizabeth School a cheque towards him representing Great Britain at the Tumbling World Age Group Championships to be held in Birmingham in November.

Buying of the first poppy

Verwood Mayor, Councillor Mrs. Toni Coombs purchased the first poppy for the town’s Poppy Appeal launch from Mr. Norman Egerton who served in the Royal Navy during and after the Second World War.

Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Minerals Development Framework - Road Show at Verwood Farmers' Market on Saturday 22 October

An additional road show is to be held at Verwood Farmers' Market on Saturday 22 October between 9am and 1pm

We tend to take minerals for granted – yet they play an essential role in our lives. A new house for example requires about 60 tonnes of sand and gravel to build.

The Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole consultation will commence on 15th July and will run until 9th September 2011
