New Mayor and Deputy Mayor Elect for 2013-14 |

At the last Full Council meeting, Verwood Town Council
elected the Mayor Elect and Deputy Mayor Elect for 2013/2014. Both will
take on their new roles on Monday 20th May at a meeting of the Town
Council which will also include the election of the Committees and
representative on other bodies for the coming year. The meeting will then
be adjourned until the Tuesday 21st May where the rest of the business of
the Council will take place.

Annual Town Assembly |

On Tuesday 30th April the Annual Town Assembly of
Verwood Town Council took place.
Reports were received from the Mayor and the chairmen
of the Town Council sub-committees
Grant Aid cheques were handed out to representatives of
the East Dorset Citizens Advice Bureaux, Forest FM, New Forest Citizens
Advice Bureaux, Verwood Evergreen Club, Verwood Concert Brass, Verwood
Friendship Club and Verwood Pantomime Society

Work begins on the MUGA |

Work has finally begun on the long awaited Multi Use
Games Area (MUGA) on Verwood Memorial Recreation Ground. The project
which has been the vision of the AGFA group has been over 5 years in the
planning and will see a free facility in a wet and underused part of the
ground.
