359/06 Declarations of Interest.
None.
360/06 Policing.
A written report, from Sgt. Partridge, who was on a course today, was circulated to all members which included, crime figures for the month of February and information on Anti-Social behaviour.
361/06 Clerk’s Report.
a) Minute 324/06 Risk Management Statement. This is an agenda item.
b) Minute327/06(a) Landscaping of Ferrett Green. This would be an agenda item at the next meeting.
c) Minute 327/06(b) Road system from The Hub. The Clerk has spoken to Dorset County Council who are happy with the existing exit lines from The Hub but will be monitoring the situation. This was noted.
d) Verwood Hub Community Association. A letter of acknowledgement has been received with thanks for the Grant Aid for 2006/2007. This was noted.
e) Hampshire Minerals and Waste Development Framework, Newsletter 4 Consultation on sites, ‘Issues and Options’. Hampshire County Council wrote enclosing a copy of their fourth Newsletter, which was copied to all Members and was noted.
f) Dorset Association of Parish & Town Councils. Chief Executive’s Circular 03/07 regarding: The Royal Garden Party; Section 137; Insurance, small parishes-Zurich scheme; Sick Sea Creatures; Quality Council Files; Dorset County Training Partnership. This was copied to all Members and was noted.
g) Bournemouth and Poole Minerals Development Plan Documents. Under the new planning system (Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act, 2004) the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Minerals Development Plan Documents: Core Strategy and Minerals Site Allocations Document are being prepared. There will now be five weeks formal consultation from 1st March to 5th April 2007. The electronic copies of the draft SA Scoping Report and consultation response forms are accessible from their web site www.dorsetforyou.com/mwdf) This was noted.
362/06 Monthly Budgets.
The monthly budget report for February was circulated to all members. They had been examined and no issues were raised.

363/06 Access & Disability Audit.
No report this month.
364/06 Enamelled Title Bar ‘Mayor’s Escort’.
A quotation had been received for a sterling silver enamelled and gold plated bar. S/s pin and safety catch fitting on reverse. A copy of the illustration was attached for Members. For the bar to be attached, the original one will have to be cut off. Therefore Members are asked to consider purchasing two which would include a new ‘Mayoress’ bar as well. The cost is:
Quantity 1. - £102.20 each nett.
Quantity 2 - £ 88.96 each nett.
Discussion took place and a proposal, which was seconded, was put forward that the Town Council should not purchase the badges quoted for. When put to the vote the proposal was lost. After further discussion it was proposed, seconded and
RECOMMENDED that the Town Council purchase a Mayor’s Escort badge at the quoted cost of £102.20 + VAT.
365/06 CCTV at Potterne Park.
Ms. Jacqui Sainsbury, Manager, Verwood Leisure Centre and Mr. Bob Bailey, Anti Social Behaviour Officer, East Dorset District Council, were welcomed to the meeting. Ms. Sainsbury gave a short presentation on the proposed CCTV provision at Potterne Park, which included: anti-social problems experienced at Potterne Park which had escalated over the years; information on the formation of a working party and the action plan that had been produced; the advantages of CCTV as a solution; details of how and where CCTV would be used in Potterne Park; information on funding sources; possible ways that the Town Council could make a contribution. Discussion took place regarding: the details of the specification for the CCTV system including information on the type of equipment, how it was to be sited and the method of recording; the problems of the areas which needed to be covered by CCTV; level of damage and cost incurred recently; the pros and cons of CCTV. Further discussion took place regarding any funds available from the Town Council which could be used towards this project. It was proposed, seconded and
RECOMMENDED that the Town Council would support the project in principle and revisit the subject when the specification of the system is provided and funds available.
366/06 Risk Management Statement.
The Risk Management Statement was copied to all Members in a Matrix Form. It was stated that the statement was much more useable and clear now and it was proposed, seconded and
RECOMMENDED that the Risk Management Statement for the Verwood Town Council be accepted in the matrix form as presented to the Committee.
367/06 Reports on Health and Safety aspects from the relevant Chairmen.
A report had been received from the Chairman of the Cemetery Committee, the Vice Chairman of the Recreation Ground and Open Spaces Committee and the Verwood Leisure Centre. The Clerk would arrange for any necessary work to be carried out.
368/06 Other reports and items for future agendas.
a) An agenda item was requested, for the next meeting, to discuss approaching Dorset County Council to provide a pedestrian crossing on Home Farm Road close to the rear entrance to The Verwood Hub.
