ASSOCIATION
In 1985 Verwood Town
Council decided to become twinned with Champtoceaux, one of
a group of nine French communities in the district of
Champtoceaux. The area is situated south of the river Loire
between Nantes and Angers. In 1992 Verwood also twinned
with the small German town of Liederbach am Taunus, which is
close to Frankfurt am Main. Plaques and photographs marking
the formal twinning ceremonies are on display in the Town
Council Chamber. Various other gifts received from our twin
towns are displayed in the Council Chamber, the Library and
the Heritage Centre. The Association organises various
social events and a summer outing for members and friends.
At the 20th Anniversary of twinning with our

self-help adult group aimed at those interested in writing,
from the beginner to the more experienced writer.
We hold three terms a year, each of six
fortnightly sessions. Please note Writers' Study
is not a writing class - there will be no formal teaching.
However, you will learn of markets for your writing, current
competitions and how to find a publisher.
You will have the opportunity to
discuss your writing with others and gain constructive
feedback and learn by listening and discussing the writing
of other members of the group. We help one
another and try to make writing fun.
Meetings are held at Three Legged Cross
Village Hall on alternate Wednesdays, 19.00 - 21.00 hours.
