Welcome to Verwood Town Council

We welcome you to Verwood’s website. This website seeks to inform its residents and others about ongoing projects and events in Verwood and also serves as a database and reference resource for information on our town.

The Town Council Offices are open 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday.

Our Mayor, Cllr Toni Coombs

D Day 80th Anniversary is on 6th June 2024, and marks the largest Naval, Air and Land Operation in history; and Verwood will be taking part in the Lamp Light of Peace with a ceremony at Ferrett Green at 9:15pm to
coincide with the national beacon lighting. The lamplight will represent the ‘light of peace’ that emerged from the darkness of war, with the lamp providing a very simple and safe way of taking part in this important 80th
anniversary occasion. More details will be available nearer the time.

This year marks the end of the term of office of our Town Councillors as the local elections are being held in May. I would like to thank all of the Councillors for their commitment to our community over the last five
years and wish those standing again good luck. If you are interested in serving our community, please contact the Town Clerk for further information.

This will also be my last report as Mayor before the elections. I would like to take the opportunity not only to thank my colleague Councillors here in Verwood but also the ‘Chain Gang’ of other Mayors and Chairman in Dorset and most importantly, the staff in the Town Council offices - always ready to help with a smile and always professional in everything they do.

It has been an honour to serve our community as Mayor for a second
time, thank you.

 Toni Coombs - Mayor

Our Deputy Mayor is Cllr Matthew Parker
